Restoration Impossible: Let There Be Lights

The headlight pods are in place and fit perfectly. Our running and turn signal lights are also in place below the headlight pods.

At the rear, we have installed the turn signals, running lights, brake lights and the license plate light. The inner two lights are just reflectors that were used on U.S. Elans.

With the wiring harness installed, we wanted to get all the lights in working order. We had restored all of our lights earlier and now just needed to install them.

The rear lights are quite straightforward, but you need to separate your single element bulbs from your dual element turn signal bulbs. They are easy to mix up.

Up front, things are a bit more complicated. You need to first reinstall your headlight buckets and get them aligned correctly with the bolts that hold them into the body.

With this step finished, you can then mount your headlights into the headlight buckets. You will have to hold you headlight buckets open, against the springs that keep them in the closed position.

While somewhat of a pain, it is doable with only one person.
