Organizing Parts

It's a pain in the butt, but the best way to get things organized is to lay it all out in your shop or driveway.

With our metal work done on the Mini, we decided that the next step was to once again organize all our parts and restore or repair what we could. Then we’ll order new parts to replace those we couldn’t save.

The month or two that our Mini’s chassis would be at the paint shop would give us plenty of time to restore or replace all the pieces that go back on the car. It’s a pain in the butt, but the best way to get things organized is to lay it all out in your shop or driveway.

One of the most critical things to do is to find every part that needs to be painted body color. There are few things more frustrating than starting to put a car back together and realizing you forgot to paint the door hinges or body side moldings.

It was an itsy bitsy, teeny-weeny rally-winning project Mini. Subscribe to Classic Motorsports and get them in your mailbox.
