The Okanagan Valley of British Columbia is shockingly beautiful.
It was clear that we weren’t in Florida anymore. Our rally mechanic, Greg, helped us tune a bit for the high altitude.
In Nelson, British Columbia, OK Tire owner and his alignment specialist got us all lined up.
After 1300 miles of driving on our own and another 1300 miles on the Going to the Sun Rally, we arrived safely back in Whitefish, Montana. We were exhausted and had no real problems. We were set to rally—other than the aforementioned power steering pump issue, a bit of tuning for altitude and a strange alignment problem. (We started chewing up a right-front tire due to their being nearly a half-inch of toe out, when we thought we had it set near zero.)
Our Shelby Mustang ran like a freight train. We’ve definitely fallen in love with this car and can’t wait to run another rally with it. This car combines the handling, practicality, reliability and comfort that makes a great long-distance, classic rally car.
Exotic Car Transport picked up the car as we headed to the airport. We captured some great pictures and memories, not to mention making some new friends.
