Rack Repair

Repairing the rack.

All done!

Old worn out suspension parts.

All done!

Mounting the axle.

As we mentioned before, we decided to get a different rack for the Midget. We went to our old friend John Twist at University Motors for one of his refurbished units.

John was even kind enough to write up a “Zen and The Art of Rack Repair” blog for us to understand his approach and methods.

While John was busy with the rack, we got onto our Midget’s rear springs and axle housing. First we disassembled the springs and mounts.

We had most of the small items replated (zinc) or powder coated semi-gloss black. We sourced new springs and urethane bushings from Moss along with new U-bolts and other hardware. Then we hung the springs.

Following that, we installed the axle housing.
