One bit of work we have to do is put the correct nose back on the car. Thankfully, that's easier than it sounds.
We loaded up our garden shed with parts from Al Taylor's Sports Car Parts, Inc.
Al Taylor, a reptile farmer and friend of the magazine, was in the process of parting out his 1972 BMW 2002tii. Since he was coming down from North Carolina to visit us and watch the Rolex 24 At Daytona, we had him load up his car and bring the parts along.
We wound up getting the sheet metal from the nose as well as the rear panel. Al’s car also had a nice black interior and lots of trim that we needed—including a solid rear bumper.
