Doing It at Daytona

During the One Lap of America's lunch break, we got to take some laps around Daytona in our Porsche.

The Tire Rack One Lap of America rolled through our hometown this week, and while visiting the competitors at Daytona International Speedway we got a little treat: some touring laps in our 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera.

These weren’t boring laps, either, as Brock Yates was leading the train. We probably shouldn’t reveal how fast we went, but let’s just say that the Porsche felt great at speed. It was stable through the trioval, solid through the Bus Stop, and comfortable on the banking. Engine temps never clicked above the normal line. In fact, we saw warmer temperatures while stopped in traffic on the way back to the office.

Things we didn’t like during our outing? The brakes felt a little shaky when entering the Bus Stop. That’s next on our to-do list.

@evo.

do it.

I did last August and owning a Porsche 911 is better than you even imagine.

Also if you haven't found the Porsche community over at PelicanParts.com forums go head over there and check it out. It is awesome.

You'll need to log in to post.
