Installing a Clutch and Doing Some Heavy Lifting

Check it out, a completed engine.

How did we stick the exhaust on there? Our friend gravity helped. We'd like to eventually upgrade the exhaust, but for now we're retaining the stock setup.

Before installing the transmission we installed a new Spec Stage 1 clutch.

And here's our assembled drivetrain waiting for installation. We have some cleaning to do, and then we're set. The transmission mounts are new, too.

Sure, scars might be cool, but no one has ever been impressed by a story that involved a pulled back.

Some of the last steps in assembling our engine involved a bit of heavy lifting. Don’t worry, we lifted with our legs, not with our backs. Sure, scars might be cool, but no one has ever been impressed by a story that involved a pulled back.

Before joining the engine to the transmission, we installed our resurfaced flywheel plus a new Spec clutch. Their Stage 1 unit seemed like a perfect replacement for our worn-out stock one, and installation was simple. Our ring gear perfectly fit the new clutch, and Spec even provided an alignment tool.
