One Day, Two Events

Aero Dynamics, a Porsche and aircraft repair shop, hosted a breakfast gathering Saturday morning. Somehow we got a prime parking spot.

The shop's hanger contained a nice mix of cars and planes.

The cover was also helpful when some liquid sunshine came to visit.

Several Turbos were on hand--both originals and later ones.

And we finished off the day with another social outing, this one close to Orlando.

Saturday was a bit social for the Porsche, as we participated in two separate PCA events. Neither were track outings, but considering the recent weather—incredibly hot and humid—it was nice to slow down a bit.

We spent Saturday morning with the Space Coast PCA at Aero Dynamics, a shop that specializes in Porsches and aircraft. Aero Dynamics is located in the Spruce Creek Fly-In, a residential fly-in community located in Port Orange, Florida, not too far from our offices.

The Verdiales family welcomed us with breakfast and a nice collection of cars. Their hanger gave everyone a shady place to hang out. Porsche of Melbourne trucked in a new GT3 RS, the subject of Lou Verdiales’s tech talk.

That evening we went to Tim’s Wine Market in Windermere, Florida, for a wine tasting hosted by the Porsche Club of America Florida Citrus Region. A wine tasting? That’s not very grassroots. True, no tires were spun and no helmets were required, but it was nice to participate in something that was geared toward couples, not just those interested in fast lap times. $20XX Challenge pro driver and multi-time SCCA national champion Dan Shields was there, so some of the evening’s talk did involve autocross.
