Showing Off

Appropriately enough, we were in the Porsche section. The 356 convertible parked beside us was beautiful, by the way.

Between the hotel and the show field, we made a quick stop.

On the way there, we spent at least an hour stopped in traffic because some cars and motorcycles tried to occupy the same space at the same time. Our temp gauge climbed a bit higher than normal, but it never got near the red zone.

Our 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera didn’t win best in show at the Lake Mirror Classic, but we had fun showing the car, talking to readers, and enjoying a beautiful day in Lakeland, Florida.

We’ll have show coverage in an upcoming issue of Classic Motorsports. And yeah, we’ll probably be back next year.

The car got a bit of a stress test, too. On the way there, we spent at least an hour stopped in traffic because some cars and motorcycles tried to occupy the same space at the same time. Our temp gauge climbed a bit higher than normal, but it never got near the red zone. Once we cleared the wreck and got to normal cruising speed, the needle fell to its usual place.

Has anyone tried a 911 in SCCA STR?
