1985 Chevrolet Camaro z/28

This is a car that is old, dusty, crusty, and needs some love. I was gifted this car by a family members, and for the longest time I wasn’t sure if I wanted it. This Z/28 has a slippy automatic transmission, a frail 5.0L 305, a primer paint job full of stains, and an interior fit enough for a family of vermin to live in throughout the Wisconsin winters. What was the selling point? Well, it was the fact that every inch of this car needed a hand, and the experience one could get while resuscitating it would be priceless. Alright—let’s do this then. What’s the goal? Let’s get this thing looking presentable, run the motor ‘til it dies (an engine swap is on my bucket list) and give it a new heart. The vision of this car is for it to shine as a car to track or AutoX on the weekend, but also take the wife for a ride up to Door County, WI a couple times a year.
