1971 Datsun 1971 240Z

I looked for several years before I bought this one from a local club member. It looks worse than it is, as the only rot in the car is under the battery box. (Spent most of its life in Arizona and Southern California as far as I can tell) It’s currently awaiting a new panel there, and the fuel system has been been restored and is also waiting to go back in. A full restoration is hopefully about to start soon. I grew up with these cars as my Dad bought one new when they came out, but this is the first 240Z I’ve owned personally, though I did race one for a couple of years. It has several period aftermarket pieces like the mirrors and air dam, most of which need to be sent back to the ‘70’s!

It looks pretty nice in that pic, good luck with it. I always liked those a lot. My next door neighbor has a 260Z, a lot done to the motor, triple Webers, suspension, bright yellow respray and those covered headlights like I've seen in a Nissan advert...but I like the early ones much better. Tell your dad, I said hi ;) I almost had a brand new '71 240Z, white with red interior. I graduated from college that year and decided I wanted the Z so I ordered one, my friend/classmate also ordered one just like it, I put my deposit down with the local dealer; if I recall correctly, at that time the wait list for those around the Philadelphia area was like 4 months, price was a little over $4k. So a couple weeks before it came in I stumbled upon a '67 E-Type Roadster in perfect condition for $2200 and decided to buy that instead, the dealer didn't care since he had plenty of waiting customers. Good luck and show us more pics as you get into it.

If you're still looking to sale it and the rust isn't all that bad please contact me, I'm in Montgomery with a good car that rusted away underside.
