So nice to see another gem saved/restored/polished and allowed to be admired again... Way to go!
Ultimate Barn Find: 1964 Townsend Typhoon MK-4. Owen Gibson of T2V Racing and Restoration recently uncovered the wildest of all Towsend creations, the midengined Mk 4. The car was a ground pounder and finished 4th twice in class at the AARC. It faded into history until Gibson received leads regarding the whereabouts of the missing Mk 4 car. After four years of dead ends, Gibson found it in a Wyoming barn, painted orange, tires rotting off, covered in hay. Gibson proudly restored the last of the Townsend Typhoons to its original racing specifications in January 2011. It debuted at The Wheels of Wellness event in Phoenix Arizona. The MK-4 was most recently accepted into the Monterey Motorsports Reunion for 2011.
