Sure, you could read the spec sheet to get an idea of how fast modern WRC cars can travel (spoiler: nearly 400 horsepower in a car that weighs less than 3000 pounds with driver and co-driver), but we like this less-than-scientific approach of watching the purpose-built rally machines blast by under full power.

I've done stage rally. Couple class wins, a 2nd and 4th overall, a few overall stage wins. I'm pretty certain I couldn't finish those stages in double the time these guys are managing. It does make me verrrry curious as to what it's like to drive the state of the art though. Not that I'd try flat out on those roads at those speeds, jeebus...

Yep. That's fast. Pretty sure I wouldn't be standing that close to the road when a partly sideways missile flies by.

I went to WRC Portugal a few years ago. Highly recommend the experience. Drink red wine all day watching the cars rip through. Good times.

I sell hoses to these guys and they race this car "on the side". They buy wrecked insurance Evo's and weld the floor into these little sedans. I walk by the shop area and check out the car once in a while. It's impressive the level of craftsmanship they show.

I'd love to see a current WRC car vs. a Group B car at the same event. I'm sure the current car is faster, but I wonder just how much faster it is?

The tires stick like crazy on dirt. Unbelievable how fast they can go thru some of the curves.
