The Yugo GV: So bad it’s good, or just plain bad?
Either way, sit back and enjoy this sales video for the Yugo. It highlights all of the car's amazing features and capabilities, like a zero-to-50-mph time (we’re not sure why they chose 50 instead of 60) of only 10.6 seconds and luxury “niceties” like overhead map lights.

That white GVX @ 4:51 looks pretty good to me. 60-0 in 168ft* or less.
*subject to shorter distances due to impact. Luckily that spare tire is up front to absorb energy

is the 1100cc motor the same as the Fiat motor ?
6/15/21 1:15 p.m.
Yep, it's a Fiat engine - the car was basically a licensed and facelifted copy of a Fiat 127.

Have you ever tried to get one of those things to 60 mph ? So serious e36 m3 happens before you get there.

0-60 would require the use of a sundial

A friend is in the process of restoring two GVX turbo's. I am on board but after climbing around them they make my rabbit gti seem plush.

I love how they take each horrible facet of engineering and play it up like it's a selling point.
Transverse leaf spring provides excellent road handling (as they show the car making a turn practically on its side)
Low profile 155/70 tires
54 hp for safe merging on any major highway
Taking advantage of Yugoslavia's vast resources and using a copper-core radiator
Turn signals are conveniently operated by steering-column-mounted controls (umm... not a new feature)

Sign me up, this seems like a great car!!!

Yugo Shopper: How quickly does it stop?
Salesperson: Depends on how far you are from what you're about to hit. Then it's almost instantaneous.
