Video: Can a Lifted Miata Survive the Gambler 500?

https://www.youtube.com/embed/Kc7b1Jk_0QY

Sure, the Mazda Miata may be "the answer," but does that logic still apply when the tarmac disappears? We used that question as a good enough reason to enter a Miata with a Paco Motorsports lift kit in the 2020 Gambler 500 Florida.

Did our safari-style Miata survive the wilds of Florida? You'll have to watch the video to find out. Presented by CRC Industries.

What can't a Miata do? Carry a couch? I'm sure it's been done by someone here.

Reminds me of the fun I had in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Had good times driving my Saab 96 V4 down the fire trails and clay pits.

Miata may be the answer; but an '85 lifted Riviera with a winch you can drive like a boss.

The Riviera was way better off-road than it should have been.

I totally did that.  With the roll bar and windshield frame it just sits right on the top nice and level, and you can easily strap it down to the roll bar.

Normally I'd have winched from inside the car, but with a 12000 lb. winch cable dragging a barely-stuck 2200 lb. car I knew I had plenty of excess capacity.

I was infatuated by Tom's build thread for it, but I'm totally in lust after watching that vid.
