Starting up some classic and vintage cars can be a complex process, so imagine what it must be like to make an original P-51D Mustang aircraft from the 1940s come alive.
As you might have guessed, starting the P-51 it takes a little work, but the result certainly seems worth the trouble.

Dad was a pilot in WW II and this was his plane. One base he was at was in Bartow FL. He went there and it is now a local airport but still has some of the WW II buildings. His best friend was killed there when he gave his P-51 to much power and fliped over on take off.

In reply to Charles :
I'm sorry to hear about your father's best friend, but that is really cool to hear your father had the chance to fly a P51. I once had the chance to hear one under full power (at the location featured in the video) and it was probably one of the greatest sounds I have ever heard.

I had the opportunity to see Bob Hoover perform in his Mustang several times back in the day. And years back there was a fellow who sometimes used his Mustang to commute from his home in CT to his place on Cape Cod. If the pattern was empty, he would do a fast low pass over the runway before coming around again to land. I agree on the sound, nothing like it.
