Shifter on the floor and no buttons on a steering wheel he had to wrestle. I don't think I would last 15 minutes, I don't know how these guys did 1-2 hours.

That brought back memories as I ran at Laguna in vintage events for several years - before they altered the track. Good times.
So sad to reflect that Jaguar in 1992 has become the (insert derogatory term of choice) it has, or shortly will become when Tata gets through with it.
