Nissan Skyline GT driver Tetsu Ikuzawa didn’t win the 1964 Grand Prix meeting at Suzuka, but at one point he muscled his souped-up sedan around a Porsche 904 Carrera GTS, the eventual race winner. The thrill of that pass reverberated throughout Japan “I was just 9 years old at that time, but I still remember the big news,” said Toshiyuki Shiga, now Nissan’s chief operating officer.
