Ferrari built only 32 examples of the 250 LM. This one competed at Le Mans, earned four overall victories during the 1965 BRSCC season and had several notable racers behind its wheel.
Roy Pike and Paul Vestey raced this Ferrari in the 1968 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A gearbox failure ended their race prematurely on lap 99. However, this car still retains the engine and transaxle from this event.
British racer George Drummond bought the Ferrari new. He entered it into BRSCC races, earning four overall wins, with two at Snetterton and one each at Brands Hatch and Silverstone.
This 250 LM comes with a well-documented history. That history includes a list of notable drivers, such as champion motorcycle racer Mike Hailwood and Formula 1 race winner Innes Ireland.
Find this 1964 Ferrari 250 LM by Scaglietti up for auction at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated winning bid of $18,000,000-$20,000,000.
