For those who shop Ralph Lauren, you might recognize this 1937 Bugatti Type 57C roadster. It appeared in the company’s 2012 fall/winter Purple Label advertising campaign.
The car underwent a no-expense-spared restoration by Bugatti experts Champion Motors prior to Ralph Lauren featuring it in 2012. The project had more than $800,000 invested in the Bugatti, and more than 2000 receipts and photographs of the restoration come included.
This Type 57C was specially ordered and built for Prince Louis Napoleon. It’s a one-off, two-seat roadster by Vanvooren.
