Not just a rare race car from a golden age of motorsports, but one with a fully documented history, too, which includes the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring.
One of just 23 examples produced, this Chevron B16–chassis No. DBE04–is noted to be an earlier model fitted with the Cosworth FVC engine, and the first of its kind to be built in 1970.
Purchased new by British driver Brian Robinson in 1970, the Chevron competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring in its debut year. Robinson continued to race the B16 throughout 1970 and 1971, achieving several top 10 finishes.
After Robinson sold the car in 1971, it would change hands several times (and often switch between coupe and spyder configurations) well into the 2000s, all the while continuing to race.
The B16 is billed as having been “well maintained throughout its life,” per the seller, with the most recent caretaker having the car maintained by Pace Products in the UK.
In addition to a recently rebuilt engine with only six hours of running time, the Chevron is accompanied by several spare components, including wishbones, control arms, brake discs, two sets of wheels and a complete original body.
