Some may think the Batmobile comes in black, but sports car enthusiasts know the true Batmobile comes in silver or white. This is one of those 33 white examples (Chamonix White, to be precise) of the BMW 3.0 CSL Batmobile.
Restored around 2012, the BMW–which has spent most of its years in Japan as part of the Naito Collection–has only completed 2000-3000 kilometers (1242-1864 miles) since the work was completed.
The numbers-matching engine has the correctly stamped 2275496, with a BMW Certificate confirming the chassis and engine numbers, but for reasons unknown “V” checkmarks were stamped over the engine number. Nevertheless, the seller says “the car is beautifully presented, its older restoration holding up well, and this spectacular ‘homologation special’ is ready to be enjoyed by its new owner.”
Find this 1973 BMW 3.0 CSL ‘Batmobile’ Series 1 Coupé up for auction at Bonhams, with an estimated winning bid of €350,000-€450,000 (approximately $375,235-$482,445 USD).
