BMW 507 with the longest single-ownership tenure known

The number of owners certainly factors into the value of a car. That’s why this 1957 BMW 507 is special. It’s had just two owners, with the present ownership having it since 1961. To put things in perspective, that’s 63 years ago, when John F. Kennedy was inaugurated as the 35th president of the United States.

In 2018, Bonhams sold a BMW 507 that John Surtees owned for 61 years. It went for $5 million.

This BMW 507 was delivered new to Venezuela, where it spent most of its life. In 2014, the 507 “passed within the family” and moved to the U.S. Its use has been very minimal, with only 2430 kilometers (about 1500 miles) covered since 1967, when it was mechanically refurbished by BMW.

Find this 1957 BMW 507 Series II Roadster with Hardtop for auction at Bonhams, with an estimated value of $1,800,000-$2,500,000.
