Dean Martin received this Excalibur as a birthday present

Perhaps you’re looking for just the right birthday present for a special someone. In the case of Catherine Hawn, she gifted this Excalibur Series II Roadster to her husband, singer and actor Dean Martin.

The Excalibur was one of those must-have cars for stars back in its era. Frank Sinatra. Steve McQueen. Jay Leno. Ronald Reagan. Phyllis Diller might have been the biggest fan of the Excalibur–she bought four of them.

This particular example comes with the optional 454 cubic-inch V8. It has less than 25,000 miles on the clock, and is in “restored condition.”

Find this 1973 Excalibur Series II Roadster for auction at Bonhams, with an estimated value of $40,000-$53,000.

Nice car for a fair price considering Dino. Question - How does a 454 V8 pass gas thru 6 exhaust pipes?

That's an interesting question. Most Excaliburs came with a V8 and they just had three exhaust pipes on each side. A 4 into 3 situation is a bit odd. Let's see if I can do some digging.

Here's the answer, courtesy of Bonhams: " The exhaust manifold for the V8 goes straight into a box on each side of the engine and from that the three pipes run out and down the side of the motorcar."
