Delage D6: Runner-up at the 24 Hours of Le Mans

This Delage D6 Grand Prix may be the most successful of the final race cars to come from French automaker. It finished second overall for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1949. It also placed runner-up at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

The Mullin Collection has owned this Delage since 1996. Upon acquiring it, it commissioned Bugatti and French exotics specialist Jim Stranberg, of High Mountain Classics, to restore it to how it was raced at Le Mans.

The Delage D6 Grand Prix now wears a replica of its original body. It has since competed in the Monterey Motorsports Reunion.

Find this 1946 Delage D6 Grand Prix up for auction at Gooding & Company, with an estimated value of $300,000-$500,000.
