Good question, especially as two-pedal setups have become a bit more acceptable in sportier cars these days.

If you really wanted a 911 back in the day but couldn’t–or didn’t want to–operate a clutch pedal, Porsche had an option: the Sportomatic gearbox, a sort-of semi-automatic transmission that allowed the driver to change gears without having to operate a clutch pedal.
Since the Sportomatic wasn’t popular with buyers and was discontinued not long after it was first introduced, does that make this 1971 Porsche 911T Targa equipped with one a little rarer–and a little more desirable?
According to the seller, the 911's engine was rebuilt by Alan Johnson Racing, with the transmission serviced by Porsche specialists at Black Forest.
Find this 1977 Porsche 911T Targa up for auction from Mecum, with an estimated winning bid of $150,000-$170,000.

My thought exactly. I've always been a big fan of the Targa. Add in the less-than-common gearbox and I'm sold.
