What’s the F1 car that three-time World Champion Jack Brabham made his Formula 1 points-paying debut in? This 1955 Cooper-Bristol T40.

That first race was the 1955 British Grand Prix held at Aintree. It was an underwhelming debut, qualifying 25th, 27 seconds behind the polesitter Stirling Moss. Brabham spent the majority of the race at the tail of the field before dropping out due to an overheating engine.

That event was also the first time a rear-engined car raced in F1, marking the start of a new era in the sport.
