Not a very pretty car is it?

Which cars did the renowned Giorgetto Giugiaro design? There were many, but you may recognize the DMC DeLorean. Or perhaps the Volkswagen Golf Mk1. But this you might not be as familiar with: the ItalDesign Aztec.
The Aztec was built to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Giugiaro’s firm, ItalDesign. It was initially going to only be a one-off concept car, but Japanese industrialist Mario Myakawa and his firm Compact commissioned 50 examples. Less than 25 wound up being produced, and this is number 18.
The powertrain consists of an Audi 5000 Turbo Quattro five-cylinder turbocharged engine and a five-speed transaxle. In addition, it uses a four-wheel drive system derived from a Lancia Delta. Combine all that with a 2800-pound weight and an aerodynamic profile, and its theoretical top speed is 150 mph.
Find this 1988 ItalDesign Aztec for auction at Broad Arrow Auctions, with an estimated value of $275,000-$325,000.
