Not a cult classic because Vegas were crap. The Cosworth engine was pretty good until they detuned it so much.

Before the ionic stainless-steel sports car that bears his name, John DeLorean oversaw the creation of this car for sale, the Chevrolet Cosworth Vega.
Thanks to a fancy cylinder head and electronic fuel injection, power in the Cosworth version of the Vega got bumped to over 100 horsepower.
One of only 3508 built, this 1976 model shows approximately 17,500 miles on the odometer.
Find this 1976 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega for sale from Lone Star Muscle Cars for $13,900.

Had a new 72. Loved how it drove, but it was rusting the day I brought it. Dealer had to fix it before I took it. Had I known just what a rustbucket that thing would turn out to be I would have passed on it.
Had to do engine rebuild at 50K miles due to no cylinder liners on an aluminum engine. Totally rusted away. Basically junk.
