Ligier JS2: Fewer than 300 of this French oddity were ever made

A rugby player, a butcher, a race car driver and an F1 team owner walk into a bar. The punchline? They’re all the same person: Guy Ligier.

While history may most strongly associate Ligier with the F1 team bearing his name, he also founded a car company in the late 1960s called–you guessed it–Ligier.

It was at the 1971 Paris Auto Salon that the world was introduced to the JS2, the successor to the company’s first car, the JS1.

Only around 250 examples of the JS2 are known to have been produced, with this example powered by a Maserati-developed 2.7-liter V6, the same unit used in the Citroën SM.

Quite curiously, the current owner of the car never registered the Ligier in his name despite acquiring it some 10 years ago in 2015.

Find this 1972 Ligier JS2 for auction from Bonhams | Cars with an estimated value of €60,000-€90,000, or approximately $63,000-$94,000 USD.

I am not generally a fan of yellow cars, but the color suits this Ligier.
