Seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher debuted during the 1991 season and raced six events that year. The following year he embarked on his first full season, and Schumacher started with this Benetton B191.
Formula 1 began the 1992 season with the South African Grand Prix, and Schumacher raced this car to a fourth-place finish behind Ayrton Senna, Riccardo Patrese and Nigel Mansell.
After South Africa, Schumacher’s teammate Martin Brundle, the 1990 24 Hours of Le Mans winner and F1 television commontator, competed with this Benetton at Mexico and Brazil, ending his day early at both events with an engine issue and a crash, respectively.
