One of only 750 1967-½ Datsun 2000 Roadsters ever made this highly original and thoughtfully restored example is only on its second owner.
In 2011, the most recent owner found this car still in the hands of its original buyer. The car then underwent a body-off restoration to bring it back to its original glory.
Despite 40-plus years on the body, it benefited from the salt-free life in Washington state. The body now sports a brighter shade of silver over the original gray. The chassis was stripped and painted with the correct shade of stain black. The original 2-liter engine and 5-speed gearbox were rebuilt.
The seats, door cards, parcel area, and kick panels are preserved originals, as are the speedometer, tachometer and ancillary gauges. New replacements include carpets, the period-correct radio, proper gray-finish interior metal trim, NOS switchgear, and a new canvas convertible top.
