Not a replica or a faithful homage, but a genuine Group B rally car available for the first time in nearly 30 years.
Most notably, this MG Metro 6R4 participated in the now-infamous 1986 Rallye de Portugal with Tony Pond and Rob Arthur at the helm.
Following the 1986 season, the Metro competed in the 1987, 1988 and 1989 British Trials and Rally Drivers Association Championship, albeit with a detuned engine.
In 1996 the MG was acquired by its current owner who, according to the seller, “used it as intended ever since,” racking up several rally wins and participating in the Goodwood Festival of Speed some 16 times.
Find this 1986 MG Metro 6R4 'Group B' Ex-Works 'C818 FFC' for auction from Iconic Auctioneers with an estimated value of £275,000-£325,000, or approximately $343,883-$406,407.
