What’s rarer than a one-of-14 Maserati A6GCS 2000 Monofaro? Try one of only four works cars. Rarer still? This example driven by famed Argentinean racer Juan Manuel Fangio.

More specifically, Fangio drove this Maserati in the 1949 Formula 2 Rome Grand Prix. Although the car would retire on lap 21, it certainly didn't slow Fangio's upward trajectory in motorsports.

The Monofaro also boasts a well-documented history and is noted to be eligible to participate in prestigious events like Mille Miglia, Goodwood and Monaco Historic Grand Prix.

Find this 1948 Maserati A6 GCS 2000 Monofaro for auction from Aguttes on October 5, with an estimated value of €800,000-€1,200,000 (approximately $886,000-$1,329,000).
