Rare, numbers-matching, Bertone-bodied Aston Martin DB2/4 Coupe

Photography Courtesy RM Sotheby's

Who had the idea to put an Italian-styled body on an Aston Martin DB2/4? Blame Stanley H. “Wacky” Arnolt II–yes, the very same man who gave us the Arnolt-MG.

This particular Aston Martin is one of only seven DB2/4s to be fitted with coachwork from Bertone, and–based on factory build documentation–retains its numbers-matching drivetrain.

Following its restoration, the car would go on to win first in its class at the 2023 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Find this 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4 Coupe by Bertone up for auction from RM Sotheby’s, with an expected value of $1,200,000-$1,600,000.
