Singer Rod Stewart bought this 1977 Lamborghini Countach LP400 while touring in Australia and subsequently had it shipped over to Los Angeles.
While in the U.S., Stewart had Albert Madikian Engineering make a few modifications that included a conversion to a full wide-body kit and an open-top targa roof. It then followed the singer to the U.K. in 1987, where it stayed in Stewart’s ownership until 2002.
The Countach’s second owner retained some of the modifications, but they overhauled the engine and it is believed they also converted it to left-hand drive. In 2013, a new owner returned the car to its original factory specification, with the exception of keeping it left-hand drive. In 2022, the car was restored by Lamborghini Polo Storico.
Find this 1977 Lamborghini Countach LP400 Periscopio by Bertone up for auction at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated winning bid of $1,050,000-$1,150,000.
