Just in case this one-of-11 Talbot-Lago “New York” Teardrop Coupe isn’t rare enough, this example is also billed as the only one “constructed expressly with competition in mind.”
The Talbot-Lago’s competition history, although short-lived, remains historically significant, as the 1939 Le Mans 24-hour it entered was one of the last great endurance races held in France before the outbreak of World War II.
Styled by French coachbuilder Figoni et Falaschi, the T150-C SS was fitted with a number of race-ready modifications, such as a 250 kph speedometer, additional driving lights, a reinforced engine bay and even a large-capacity fuel tank.
Find this 1938 Talbot-Lago T150-C SS Teardrop Coupe available through RM Sotheby’s.
