Have you priced a Toyota Supra recently? A number of examples are selling for over $50,000, with some auctions even reaching $100,000 before the hammer drops. Luckily, the Supra isn’t the only car Toyota fitted with the sturdy, mod-ready 2JZ straight-six.
Enter the Lexus IS300. Engineered by the same person behind the AE86 Corolla, the first-gen IS300 made use of a naturally-aspirated version of the 2JZ while not as quick off the line, still benefits from the vast aftermarket available to the popular engine.
This particular example is the uncommon Sportcross wagon variant that offers sports sedan performance with a bit of extra usability.
