The 1000-horsepower American supercar that never made it into production

Regarded as America’s first supercar manufacturer, Vector was intent on making the WX-3 its next great supercar. Unfortunately, a hostile takeover of the company ensued, and the project got canned. However, this prototype remains.

Probably most surprising with this example is its power plant: a twin-turbo Rodeck 7.0-liter V8 producing 1000 horsepower. The company claimed it gave the WX-3 a zero-to-60 time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 248 mph.

Vector founder Jerry Wiegert retained the car after being ousted from the company. He kept it until 2019, when it underwent $300,000 in restoration work from 2019 to 2021. The seller calls it an “ideal entrant to prestigious events, never presented at international concours.”

Find this 1993 Vector Avtech WX-3 Prototype up for auction at Broad Arrow Auctions, with an estimated winning bid of $1,500,000-$2,000,000.
