One of the most forward-thinking cars of the 1930s? The Traction Avant makes a compelling argument for the title.
In addition to being the first mass-produced front-wheel-drive car to be built with a monocoque chassis, the car also features four-wheel independent suspension and was an early adopter of rack-and-pinion steering.
As for this Traction Avant, it’s regarded as one of the earliest examples produced, rolling off the assembly line in August of 1934.
Between 2000 and 2013, the Citroën underwent a restoration that overhauled the body, engine and transmission.
Find this 1934 Citroën 7B Traction Avant Cabriolet for auction by RM Sotheby’s with an estimated value of $85,000 to $125,000.
