When it comes to collecting, firsts and lasts almost always attract the highest dollars. Will that hold true for this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette? It’s purported to be the last one built with the L72 V8 engine.
The L72 displaces 427 cubic inches and puts out 425 horses. This example is also considered the last 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible manufactured, with only three other ’66 Corvettes with higher serial numbers.
The Corvette comes with the rare “all business” options of an L72, J56 Heavy Duty Brakes and a radio/heater delete. Only 382 Corvettes that year had the J56 option.
This example underwent a frame-off restoration by Roger Gibson Auto Restorations and earned a NCRS Top Flight Award after its completion.
