There’s only one last of anything, but this example represents two lasts. It’s the final 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible built. Not only that, it’s the last Corvette with the L72 427-cubic-inch V8 engine.
This Corvette was built on July 29, 1966, the final day of production for that model year. Only three Corvettes have higher serial numbers than this example. It came with the rare option combination of the L72, J56 heavy duty brakes and radio/heater delete.
It underwent a restoration by Roger Gibson of Missouri. After that it won an NCRS Top Flight Award and has received several awards.
