Only 144 examples of the RS2000 were built. Of those, 24 were Evolutions. Of those, only four were right-hand drive. Of those, only one was believed to be built by Ford rather than a post-purchase conversion. This is it, and it only carries 12 miles on the odometer.
The car, dubbed #086, was one of three purchased for European Rallycross, but it never entered competition. Instead, it was stored from 1988 to 2011 and then sold twice in the span of a year.
So how did time and three owners treat this RS2000 Evolution? Quite well, apparently. Here’s how the seller describes it:
Mechanically, #086 is in excellent condition. It starts, runs and drives remarkably well despite its minimal mileage. The original paint presents well, and while there are some storage marks on the body, the car remains in impressive overall condition. Since 2011, it has made only two public appearances, being displayed with the RS200 Club at Lydden Hill and then at Silverstone Circuit in 2023.
Find this 1986 Ford RS200 Evolution up for auction at Iconic Auctioneers, with an estimated value of £500,000-£700,000 ($610,000-$850,000 USD).
