If you love the beautiful lines of this Talbot-Lago T26 Grand Sport Coupe, this is the only chance to own one. Of the two with bodies like this one from Dubos Frères, just this one survived.

Antonio Lago, yes, the Lago in Talbot-Lago, sanctioned the body’s design. Carlo Delaisse, a freelancer for Dubos Frères, penned the body. The Dubos Frères car was what was used by Talbot-Lago to promote the T26 Grand Sport Coupe in its brochures, with a charcoal drawing of the car because one wasn’t even completed yet.

This Talbot-Lago knows how to make an appearance. It made its public debut at the 1949 Concours d'Élégance du Bois de Boulogne. There it won a Grand Prix, the Coupe Parfums Carven. That win got it coverage in a July 1949 issue of l’Equipment Automobile, while it appeared in ads in the newspaper Le Figaro. A photo of the Talbot-Lago made it into the April 1950 issue of Road & Track. More recently, it displayed at Rétromobile (2005) and Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este (2010).

Find this 1949 Talbot-Lago T26 Grand Sport Coupe by Dubos Frères for auction at Broad Arrow Auctions, with an estimated value of €1,200,000-€1,500,000 (approximately $1,300,000-$1,625,000 USD)
