The Triumph Spitfire with ties to FedEx’s beginning

Photos courtesy Mecum

Did this Spitfire help start FedEx? Nah, but its previous owner did.

This 1965 Triumph Spitfire was owned by the late Tucker Morse, the first attorney and one of the first 10 employees hired at FedEx. After retiring from FedEx in 1981, he worked to revitalize his hometown of Little Rock.

Tucker raced this Spitfire in many vintage events at Roebling Road Raceway and other tracks around the country. Minilite wheels and a roll bar are just two of the modifications listed. However, based off the photos, this Spitfire looks ready for the track.
