What would Frank Farian, the founder of music acts Boney M, No Mercy and Milli Vanilli, buy for a car? Apparently, this BMW M1, and now you have the opportunity to own it, too.

After Farian bought the car, he sent it to BMW Motorsport to convert it to the M1 Procars spec. For someone with flashy music acts, the man needs an equally flashy car, right? Other in-period upgrades by Farian include reupholstering the seats with full leather and an improved sound system, with a Becker Mexico stereo, Clarion 150EQB graphic equalizer and additional speakers.

Farian sold the car in 1990 to an employee of his. Since then, it’s changed hands a couple of times. In recent times, the BMW has made several appearances at key concours, such as at the 2020 Salon Privé, where it won the owner’s choice award and second in its class, and at The Aurora Scandinavian Concours in 2024.

Find this 1980 BMW M1 for auction at Broad Arrow Auctions, with an estimated value of €450,000-€550,000 (approximately $500,000-$600,000 USD).

Hmmm, I think the regular street version of the M1 is much better looking.
