The Italian marques of Ferrari and Stanguellini crossed paths often. For example, this Stanguellini 1100 ran its first race in the same event that Ferrari debuted its first car, the 125 S–May 11, 1947 at Circuito di Piacenza. The result? Ferrari ended its race prematurely with a fuel pump issue on lap 27 of 30. The Stanguellini won.
This car later competed in the 1947 Mille Miglia, where it finished 21st overall, and 15th in class. Yes, it bested a Ferrari 125 S again, which placed 145th among 151 starters.
The Stanguellini stayed with the same family for over five decades before being restored in 2008. It’s now ready to be enjoyed and is Mille Miglia eligible.
Find this 1947 Stanguellini 1100 Sport Internazionale for auction at Broad Arrow Auctions, with an estimated value of €350,000-€450,000 (approximately $400,000-$515,000)
