Want to win at Pebble Beach? This Bentley R-Type has done it before.

Winners tend to win, and that’s what makes this Bentley R-Type Continental Fastback Sports Saloon quite attractive. It earned a second-place award at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2015. The only thing that held it back from a win was that it did not participate in the tour at Pebble.

This R-Type Continental earned that award because it’s desirable and relatively rare. It’s just one of 13 built in left-hand drive with a manual central gearshift and lightweight seats. Less than that came with rear wheel spats. Just two had fitted luggage.

However, just one–that’s right, this one–was displayed at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1954.

Find this 1954 Bentley R-Type Continental Fastback Sports Saloon by H.J. Mulliner for auction at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated value of $1,900,000-$2,550,000.
