yeah, I figured :p It was worth asking, anyway.
I could swing the bike $ right now, but it'd leave me without any backup for a while. I'm not real comfortable with that with summer travel, etc..

out of curiosity, what did the mod parts and the maintenance parts run you to get it up to the point it was at?
Bought bike for $100 from a coworker, in non running and super ugly condition. My total cost excluding registration/tax was $996 as sold- includes all mod parts and repairs, excludes fluids and stuff I had laying around. The box of spares could probably net you $200 if you sold everything individually. If I value my time at like $1/hr, I made a small profit!
How comfortable was that seat? I have an 81 Cb650c that is getting a makeover soon and am looking at style options.
The seat shape was comfortable- the pad was the issue. It wasn't too bad for rides up to an hour or so, but it WAS made from a scrap of foam from a stock DRZ400 seat, and those aren't exactly known for comfort. It would have been very good with some higher quality foam, which is exactly what the new owner has planned, along with a real leather cover (my seat cover was also a cut up DRZ leftover).
