And did I mention it's located in Gainesville?

Should have posted this a week ago for a fly & drive victim. Forwarding the link to a svx buddy of mine.
Made the decision 2 nights ago. Been waiting on Svrex on first right if refusal. Got the go ahead today from him.
I wanted this when Paul was selling it originally. I even had the flight just about booked. Could it be driven to MA from FL? Some locals are heading down to the challenge. Maybe they could drive it back for me.
Edit: Does it still need tires?
Still could use tires. I've only driven it about 3 months worth since last October, and just around town. Engine/trans wise i would trust it. tires would likely be ok for the trip, but they look like shaved race tires.
EDIT: I punched the above in while at the various stop lights on the way home. In the spirit of full disclosure I need to add that it will need rear wheel bearings soon. Still drives fine they're just howling, been that way since I brought her home. Also will need valve cover gaskets and vacuum lines replaced at some point. The vacuum lines are getting pretty brittle, and it's going through some oil. Doesn't seem to be smoking but the bottom of the heads definitely have fresh oil on them.
I'm SVreX, and I approve of this message.
Wished I'd seen it today at the track- kind of like an old friend.
I miss it, and would have snapped it up, but I am now committed to the MINI, and it would have been a choice between another car, and the wife...
...THEN I'd have to choose between the SVX and the MINI.
Didn't want to have 2 automotive mistresses competing for my attention.
Lord.... I'm kinda thankful that I left the F2T MX-3 back in WV... I'd be tempted to swap for several of the cars here!
Nope. The MINI mistress is much too demanding. She'll get jealous.
I've got a solid finish in my sights. Can't deal with a jealous Bavarian.
Time for someone else to enjoy her.
By the way... in the SVX world that color is not called "Merlot", it's called "Claret".
Someone wanna tell me the difference?
edit: The thought of selling this car is killing me. "Manning up" SUCKS! Just a warning this thing is addictive, not to mention I think KONI's are going on every future car after this one. This car sticks better than ANYTHING this size has a right to do. Soaks up bumps that sends SWMBO truck skipping down the road, in this car it is literally a bump.

How bad are all of these jobs to do? I imagine the valve covers suck pretty bad. I also imagine the wheel bearings are not fun.

This is what it takes to get me to log in, apparently. I need this car. I've needed this car for years, and only this SVX will do. UGH! I'm trying to convince the mister that we really do have the money for it....
I'm gonna go cry in a corner, now......
Convincing a missus: First you sell some things, then fix that stuff that you've been putting off for a decade, then cooking some meals, maybe cleaning a bathroom or two, taking her to see the latest bonnet movie, serious conversation, and a little cajoling.
Convincing a mister: four minutes and bam: Email sent.

all in all probably 3-400 in parts on the expensive side. valve cover gaskets will probably take an afternoon. the bearings a day maybe, with access to a press.
Morbid, wae and yamaha; THAT IS BERKELEYING HILARIOUS!!! But true. I am a sucker when it comes to what SWMBO wants.
You'll need to log in to post.
